#Q591R on PB2 has established itself in a lineage in South Dakota beginning in a May sample. Up to 13 descendants, all from cattle in South Dakota.
Some reading suggests Q591R almost as bad as dreaded E627K:

Seems bad. Experts? - < aria-expanded="false" aria-haspopup="menu" aria-label="More" role="" ="-175oi2r r-1777fci r-bt1l66 r-bztko3 r-lrvibr r-1loqt21 r-1ny4l3l" -testid="caret" ="" style="text-align: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-family: inherit; align-items: stretch; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: black; display: flex; flex-basis: auto; flex-direction: column; flex-shrink: 0; list-style: none; margin: 0px; min-height: 20px; min-width: 0px; padding: 0px; : relative; : 0; overflow: ; justify-: center; cursor: pointer; outline-style: none; user-: none;"> In this paper author suggests Q591R as single mutant might have replication advantage in humans over single E627K
"Q591R alone...produced a replication advantage for H5N1 virus polymerase during human cell infection" DJ, How to deal with H5N1 developing towards human-to-human spread ? -Do NOT test...so "there are no known cases"... -Scientists reporting bad news should not even get cleaning jobs...defund science! -Stress the importance of economy ! DJ-Without an economy there would NOT be healthcare, science, education...however if "only money matters" one chooses to go blind for risks...
